On Friday the 17th November we had Southerly gales here in Dover. The wind was gusting to 60 knots and was causing quiet a few difficulties for the ports ferry traffic. At one point in the afternoon there were 6 ferries riding out the gales awaiting entry to the port. Nearly all ferry arrivals and departures were requiring tug assistance which meant a busy day for the harbour boards only serviceable tug DHB Doughty (her sister DHB Dauntless is currently having a routine dry docking).
